Batoto Manga Scanlation Site to Close Down - My Otaku World
Batoto Manga, one of the most popular manga scanlation aggregator sites, is shutting down. RawR, the site’s owner and administrator, told readers he “just doesn’t have the will” to run Batoto anymore. The servers will expire on January 18, but readers may possibly still access some content.

I was disappointed when I saw that closing notification this morning. I used Batoto for many years and have been reading quite a bit there, so it's unfortunate that it is shutting down since finding and setting up any alternative is going to take me a considerable amount of time.

However, KissManga doesn't have public upload, so chapters that are scrapped from Batoto, like all of the LHTranslation and Jaimini's Box chapters (ones that I normally upload to Batoto), won't end up showing up on KissManga and in turn, won't show up on Tachiyomi.

I remember a few years ago there was a site called bato.to that had some great scans of Tetsumo Nihei's BALME! series facing in the correct direction. I have no idea what happened to it, but last I heard the owner shut it down until I checked again. Now it looks like a generic site and I believe the other scans are gone.

Batoto is the core site that almost everyone submits to, and all the other manga sites leech off of it. actually, mangafox and all the bigger sites steal most of their content from batoto, since that’s what the scanlation groups themselves used. the big sites steal all of mangastream’s content too.

Ooh, I actually had no idea Batoto shut down. I've only ever read about 3 manga, to which I used KissManga to read, but i've wanted to get back into it. There just didn't seem to be a good site to use that I could find in the past. In particular, i'm looking for something with a sleek black or grey theme to be easy on the eyes.
